Question: if this subgroup were open, would that be open to members of the parent group, or anyone from the public?

we could start with the parent group for a week and then open to the public; what kind of traffic does the site get regularly?

Yeah I want to see what it feels like to have an open group. My hunch is it's going to make me want to build some moderation features.
