Method to accept donations

KL Kate Lebedeff Public Seen by 195

We have discussed in mailing lists briefly, how exactly we want to accept donations (since there should be an easy way to donate on our webpage). So far Paypal was the leader of the discussion.
Please say "yes" if you are OK with us getting the service of Paypal for these needs.

Seems to be the easiest, so I am for it

I just abstain because I hate Paypal for some reasons. However I agree it's simple so I won't oppose.

Paypal is extremely evil and has occasionally confiscated people's money for no good reason.
However, they also seem to be the easiest option, so while I'm not thrilled enough to vote yes, I'm also not opposed enough to vote no.

No opposition from me. PayPal is indeed the easiest and quickest method to get funds.

I agree with using paypal for payments. I don't think that paypal is so bad that we can't start with them. I think it's an easy one to agree on, and then as we start getting more payments, we can start looking for a more professional payment account.

The method should be widespread and easy to use. PayPal is such a service.

Smae reasons as bero's. I would like this type of payment but I'd prefer something like litecoin, if it is usable.

Bitcoin donations must be available too

There was also this discussion:

@alexanderkhryukin made the proposal of litecoin
João also made the proposal of flattr.

Some alternatives we may want to investigate:
https://www.braintreepayments.com/
https://www.skrill.com/en/
http://www.firstdata.com/en_fr/home.html
https://www.merchantinc.com/paypal-alternative (this last one might be US-only though, just found it while googling "paypal alternative")

(might also want to ask any of them about special conditions for a non-profit)

I haven't personally used flattr, but have seen it at many places. If it's even a weebit better than PayPal, I'll change my vote :)

I would not argue with any "paypal is not best" or "paypal bad" things, we are just seeking for a solution, where it is easy for people to donate, ie also massive solution, where people already have accounts. If we have most "abstained", I am afraid we will have no decision...

@raphaeljadot I understand;)-p . Just thinking of consensus and everybody being happy. Though seems to be hard with this one and at this point of time
