Adopting the Strategic Planning goals.

In March the MGP agreed to a set of strategic planning goals that came out of several sessions that have occurred since December. The next step is to approve and adopt the goals.
I would like to open a 10 day period of discussion about the goals and then once that discussion has occurred have a vote to confirm. In this process the discussion should be primarily focused on modifying or removing goals, but if needed we can also add.
Once we open the voting process we will do so on a whole document, so it is important to revise and refine in this period.
The goals we agreed to on 3/27 are published below.
Maryland Green Party Strategic Planning
Goals
In December of 2018 the Maryland Green Party agreed to participate in a strategic planning process. So far there has been a debrief on the 2018 election, a few brainstorming sessions and a goal setting meeting. This document captures the results of that process as of 3/31/2019.

Maryland Green Party Annual Assembly-June 8th, 2019-10:00 AM-4:00 PM
Goal 1: Create committee to plan assembly program.
Goal 2: Use assembly to introduce people to 2020 Presidential candidates.
Goal 3: Involve members in bylaws review and other reorganization efforts.
Ballot Access Petition Drive
Goal 1: Submit 15,000 signatures by 12/31/2019.
Goal 2: Contact 4000 active greens and try to get contact information by 12/31/2019.
Goal 3: Create campaign for 2020 general assembly session to pass legislation that allows registered voters to count toward petition requirement (Cross listed with Legislative).
Maryland General Assembly Legislative
Goal 1: Identify, track, comment, testify and share information about bills the Maryland Green Party is tracking.
Goal 2: Encourage and train Greens to testify on bills and publish and share that testimony.
Goal 3: Host a priority process meeting in the fall before session starts to identify issues, ideas, and legislation to follow during the session and to identify places we can make distinctions. (Cross listed with Platform).
Goal 4: Create legislative campaign for 2020 session to pass legislation that allows registered voters to count toward petition requirement (Cross Listed with Ballot Access).
Platform
Goal 1: Create, publish and share Maryland Green Party platform materials that speak to state and local policy options supported by the MGP, in the following areas
-Green New Deal
-Marijuana Legalization
- Democracy Reforms
Goal 2: Host a priority process in the fall before the general assembly session starts to identify issues, ideas, and legislation to follow during the session and to identify places we can make distinctions. (Cross listed with Legislative).
Elections
Goal 1: Create a multiyear electoral strategy that identifies:
-Expectations of candidates and of the party
-Municipal/Non-Partisan races that might be winnable
-Candidate support,training, and recruitment needs
-Locations where we can grow
-Long term electoral goals.
-Methods of using elections to build and sustain the party
Goal 2: Create a calendar of elections that identifies municipal and non-partisan races across the state.
County Chapter and Central Committee Expansion
Goal 1: By Summer of 2020 have an active chapter with a central committee and a bank account in every county in the state of Maryland.
Goal 2: Create program to help chapters start, retain members and train organizers.
Goal 3: Track status of each County Chapter toward goal.
Outreach
Goal 1: Make sure all Maryland Greens are aware of the National Party caucuses they can participate in
Goal 2: Create an outreach plan that ensures the diversity of our party reflects our state and our political priorities.
Committees/Bylaws
Goal 1: Review and revise bylaws to ensure that they recognize the actual capacity of the party. The bylaws review and revision should be led by a small group who drives an inclusive process. At the assembly the idea should presented and interested people recruited, in the fall there should be a special assembly at which new bylaws will be adopted.
Messaging/Communication/Member Engagement
Goal 1:By the assembly create monthly online newsletter consisting of at least one article, contact info, and events listing that goes on web, social, and email.
Goal 2:Create policy and process for importing lists from, people, campaigns,and individuals.
Goal 3:Secure email lists from each 2018 campaign and then add them to our database.
Fundraising/Budget:
Goal 1: Raise $20,000 in 2019.
Goal 2: Create 2019 and 2020 budget and fundraising plan.
Goal 3: Hire ¾ time staff person by summer of 2020.

Hello Folks, I just want to note that there is a lot on this list and i hope that in the few weeks we can start assigning point people to these goals.
