User titles
There's a user the the Buy Twitter group with the following username:

Which is a long name!
But, it's also a veiled feature request to include 'titles', or some other kind of metadata with a user profile beyond just a name.
What are your thoughts about this? On the one hand, it makes a ton of sense as a lightning-quick 'introduction' to who's speaking, but on the other hand, do we really want to introduce a potential 'status' mechanism? IE, maybe it's less than conducive to discussion to have things like
James Kiesel - Loomio Senior Developer and Co-op Co-owner
attached to some users but not others.
Has there been energy for this kind of thing in your communities?
Aside to @gdpelican FYI there's already a card for this on the sprint inbox.
To me, this 'hack' of the name field is just another vote for user profiles, which we've talked about implementing before. There's also a good argument for group-level user-defined titles, as suggested in this (four year old!) thread. This is another aspect of the importance of "who's in the room" and introducing people to each other in group processes.
We still need the option to attach contact information to our Loomio profiles. It's been really inconvenient to not even have a single text field for that.
Metadata and linked data are a large part of my intellectual life. However, I'd probably prefer for Loomio to use a simple approach such as "Contact Info" and "About Me" fields to most of the irregularly prescriptive profile formats out there.
