Haha' Love the "TRIVAGO FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES, PROGRAMMES, SERVICES" Interesting and innovative concept, however I wouldn't underestimate how much this will take to get off the ground to curate the relevant data/content and then to attract the users to engage in the website/app.

SP

Shalini Pillai Tue 13 Aug 2019 9:37AM

4 - Innovation

difficult to see how this will change the system. It is a good approach adn could be funded via core funding perhaps.

S

Shona Tue 13 Aug 2019 10:52AM

3 - Innovation

Similarities to MyRyvr app (focused on social and community services) that had already been developed. Agree that aggregating information is not systems change.Agree with Jade on the practicalities of aggregating info but would add that its likely this would be an ongoing challenge around time-bound opportunities/events etc. I'd advocate they start with offline prototyping for all customer to test adoption changes before building anything. That would be a much cheaper approach.

Definitely a need for this work, and a very strong and experienced team behind it. Just not sure how "innovative" this is, and potentially something that govt should fund if they haven't already?

S

3 - Innovation

Peer support is an interesting way to deliver. Applying similar principles to AA gives a little discomfort as there is no evidence that AA works for alcohol dependency. Its early to make a decision about growth of this evaluated pilot. I'd need some more context to know if this is new in this space.

Love the concept behind "the sound board - to air what’s on their mind or heart – while at the same time, expressing themselves through natural creativity." However, it appears like a rather expensive 5 day intensive programme/project.

5 days Seems short - not quite sure what the effect will be in addressing issues.

Feel like there is a real opportunity to explore what a collaborative "community hub" might look like in South AKL.
However, the overall costs around this seem quite lite. And feels like there is a significant skew towards subsiding a building lease for them.

SP

Shalini Pillai Tue 13 Aug 2019 9:56AM

I'm not sure if high risk whanau will access services at a hub. plus transport is always an issue.

Another proposal that is fixing the 'hard to navigate' social and community services space. Not sure a physical premises is right solution. Perhaps this needs to be a cluster that has a well designed innovation process that spans a number of communities.

7 - Innovation

Lots of good ingredients. I'd like to get TSI, Panuku and Roots in a room together to understand the collective understanding of impact. TSI have talked about this as a model for using empty council lots as pop-up spaces for food innovation hubs that could be replicated. This proposal needs a boost to move beyond the basic 'running a cafe' next to a community garden.

S

Sarag Wed 14 Aug 2019 9:33AM

Similar comment to Soul Brothers the proposal doesn't outline the insights that led to this as the prototype design but perhaps there is some sound thinking underneath the idea, not included in this proposal. Know Ngaire who is amazing as a creative. Agree with Shona's comments re costing/volunteer etc - also new Pacific Business Hub has recently opened and might be making strides - seperate the youth space is very busy here as well - always love these spaces just not sure if this is the one to invest as it reads.
