Comments from the food cafe

Hey everybody! Just wanted to discuss a couple of stocked items that came up in today's meeting...

Peanuts - in the co op we sell roasted and salted Peanuts, I just raised the idea that it may be better to just sell normal uncooked Peanuts as so many customers are a little disappointed when they see they are r&S, and uncooked is likely to be healthiier

The shampoo was also mentioned by a couple of members - so faith in Nature obviously a good company, are they any other flavours besides chocolate that could be stocked that would.be in keeping with green action philosophy? (I know the chocolate scent is made from organic ingredients)

Finally, just a query regarding the zapatista coffee - is it dark or light roasted?

Big love to all of you groovy people

I agree with the peanuts.

The shampoo issue is a point to do a little bit of research on. I don't have any clue but I'll try to have a look online

Joy explained that the peanuts we order are roasted and salted so that it's easier for people to make peanut butter at home. Though I think we can change if we all agree because I think they're way to salty, and wonder how many people actually buy them to make peanut butter at home?

I've never eaten/made peanut butter so I can't really make a point here... Sorry! all you decide will be fine

Hmm, well, my opinion is that unroasted peanuts actually don't taste very good at all... Generally I think nuts taste better when roasted, but for peanuts that is particularly true.

I think a good compromise would be to sell roasted but unsalted nuts, but I'm not sure they stock them.

This is the closest I can find, but they aren't organic:

I agree, roasted nuts taste so so much better than raw ones. I always roast mine at home. I don't think they have roasted but unsalted (which is organic) though

Yep, I normally home-roast nuts myself too.

I think the thing about the peanuts is that I assume people see them as a product they can buy and snack on straight away (like those salted broad-bean things)

So I would say replacing them with unroasted ones is not really replacing like-with-like and it would leave us with one less snack on the shelves
