Conference Call Meeting
Meeting opened: Time: 4:04 Via:Google hangout
Attendance: Berge Der Sarkissian, LB Joum, Nick Debenham, Ricky Jefferyes
Apologies: Oliver Minter, Francois Crespel, Paul Martin, Sven Wiener.
Minutes of the previous meeting: The previous minutes were noted as being passed in loomio.
Accept 22 new members as tabled via email.
General Business:
*Help for Berge to follow up member applications
Berge – Doesn't need help.
*Does SOL.org.au About Us page need urgent edit?
Berge – Remove the bit about New Democracy Foundation
Nick – Asked about 'Our People page on the SOL website
Berge – Explained
*Changing the name of the Party
Berge – If we open the feedback up we need to get a short list, and then have people vote on the
short list. It is a big process.
Joum – Should add the name Digital Direct Democracy to the list of namces that people have
suggested?
Berge – Not sure. If we are going to ask people to decide should we leave it to them?
Nick – Name should include the word 'Internet' and describe increase in democracy. Happy to
change to Digital Direct Democracy.
Berge – talked about no urgency to change name. Put an article about us looking to change our
name in the newsletter but don't put Digital Direct Democracy.
Joum – Asked should we put name Digital Direct Democracy and ask for opinions?
*Membership Categories
Joum - asked Berge about the categories of membership.
Berge – explained Foundation Members are the list of people who are contacted by us to make sure
they remember they are members of our party so we can use them in the list we supply to the AEC.
When the AEC check these members they expect the people to know.

"New Democracy Foundation" references have now been removed from the about us page and even from the home page, i have done this @ 10am Friday 26/9/14.

@lbjoum ok thanks Joum i have that email document and it contains an .xlsx spreadsheet with the 22 members that needed to be approved by the IC. And then WERE approved by the IC on the 12/9/14.. so maybe the simplest quickest thing for me to do would be to send out an email entitled THESE MEMBERS WERE APPROVED BY THE IC @ THE MEETING ON THE 12/9/14, and just attach the same document. OR i could just manually write down a list of 22 names (thus providing a little more privacy/confidentiality and send that in an email to all members of the IC. What do u think?

Passing the members in a meeting is just a formality. You would only need to inform someone if they weren't accepted or if they were found to have problems with the AEC.
