A discussion linked to the existence of bikepolo.com.au and whether AHBPA should have a unique website for announcements such as tournaments, rules, decisions, media and sponsorship that is an official front for bike polo in the region.

This may be rolled into bikepolo.com.au depending on the outcome of that discussion.

Current example is at: http://stage.sydneybikepolo.org/

the role can be inside or outside the jedi council. if outside then some one in the council should act as a go-between or adviser.

At this point, I'd like to see the AHBPA content kept with an overhauled bikepolo.com.au. Maybe if polo (and thus AHBPA) got a lot bigger it might warrant two websites, but in the meantime I think that would be a recipe for confusion.

AGREED: The website www.bikepolo.com.au is to be overhauled. How this is achieved is now to be determined.

The AHBPA creates a small team to completely redesign bikepolo.com.au with a dedicated AHBPA section. The structure, content and look is yet to be developed, but the 4 key areas in order are:
1. A good intro to the sport or dedicated section to entice new players
2. A section for media (i.e. press release) or sponsors
3. A place to post official things like AHBPA announcements, rules and contacts.
4. Links to clubs contact info.

Be great to have a official source of info for AHBPA.

Is there any scope to set up a forum for AHBPA players on the proposed website to receive info, as well as buy and sell, I am not a fan of facebook?

The website is currently clunky and doesn't compile all local info on tourneys and hat not.

Also the calendar is useless.

So, as this was clearly agreed to. Now we should work on how it's to be done. First thing before building is to notify who ever is running it (i.e Melb) and start making a list of what we want or don't want

  • feel free to do that on this thread. I'll collate it and pass it on to whoever is tasked with the build.

As far as I'm concerned, the 4 key areas in the proposal are what we're after content-wise. I don't care who does it, but the AHBPA has no money so unless we fundraise they won't be getting paid for it.
