Interesting story about Loomio, Democracy @ work

Starting a business is a huge challenge -- tackling it is better done together.

Earlier this month we spoke with Alanna Krause, co-founder and cooperative member of Loomio, a free online software platform with roots in the Occupy movement designed to help large groups of people make decisions virtually. She gave us insight into the benefits of starting a business as a worker cooperative: “We love being a coop. I can’t imagine owning a startup by myself and feeling all the pressure just on my own shoulders. A startup is a roller-coaster ride, financially and psychologically; as a coop, we look after each other and share the load.”

In the second part of their profile, we go further into depth about Loomio’s challenges and successes as an online software startup.
